Train rides seem to be a thing of an age gone by. When I think of a train ride I think of the luxury coaches they show in movies [most often tinged with romance] You know,back in the days when people actually wrote letters,kept journals and went by train to visit their family members or loved ones, for me it's gloves,hats elegance and class,as well as a trip giving you time to engage in a candlelit dinner,and just indulge in the beautiful scenery and deliquesence of the moment, the warm nostalgia of it all.

The Blue Train is definately worth a mention as you get to view amazing sights around Africa in sheer luxury and comfort. Ideal for tourists and great for those of us who have the time to spare on a little beauty.

Another worthwhile mention is the infamous Outeniqua Choo Tjoe steam train. If you in for a long haul which you will board in Garden Route Drive and will take you on a thrilling ride along the dramatic coast. On to Durban, the port city with hints of the Far East. What better way to experience a relaxed view of any place but then to simply ride and eat right through it, take some photo's,have a glass of wine- you dont even need a travelling companion, in fact they would only distract you from the surrounding scenery and serenity of the experience.It's always nice to tour with a soundtrack so have your earphones on standby.
