Lake Jozini Houseboats

If you go on board the Shayamanzi Houseboat, don’t just lie around the deck like a lazy old pirate, take out your fishing rod, and enjoy the rush of Tiger fishing! Lake Jozini is the only place in South Africa where you’ll find the fierce Tiger Fish, an African game fish that is ferocious in its fight. These fish will give you a throbbing throat as they jump out of the water, bobbing viciously as it tries to escape your line. Tackle and rods available for hire on board, so don’t miss this adrenalin rush. Once you’ve caught enough fish for the day, you may just as well soak up a beautiful African sunset whilst gazing over the Lebombo Mountains and Pongola Game Reserve. The Pongola Game Reserve teems with a large variety of wildlife and can be viewed from deck of the Shayamanzi, or from other boats tending the water.
See how Lake Jozini becomes a paradise for bird watchers, as the area hosts 350 species of different bush birds, raptors and water birds.
