Hot-air Ballooning In The Berg

Hot-air ballooning in the Berg
browse (1 / 4)

The spectacular scenery of hot-air ballooning in the Natal Midlands and Drakensberg region of Kwazulu-Natal is a mouth-watering prospect for all visiting tourists. In discovering this unique South African landscape from such a unique position, you’ll find yourself not only appreciate the surroundings more and more, you’ll actually fall in love with it completely.

So… what is hot air balloon experience really like? Well, it may not be for some, but for many it is an adventure that no only offers the thrill of floating high up in the sky, but also the peaceful serenity of hovering over the Natal Midlands and the edges of the Drakensberg mountains – a truly beautiful site for any visiting tourist. To ensure a safe and comfortable ride, modern hot air balloons have specially designed partitioned baskets that are about 1.1 meters in height. They have footholds that assist entry, and we advise that young children should be accompanied by at least one adult. Casual outdoor clothes are recommended, since you’ll most definitely go for a walk in the countryside afterwards. Thus good solid walking boots would be best.

Don’t fret over freezing to death whilst in the air, you’ll find that the temperatures in the lower air are similar to those on the ground. And note that a hot air balloon ride takes about one hour, so you need to be fit enough to stand upright for the same period of time. Also, climbing in and out of the balloon basket takes some agility and skill, so be considerate of your age and health before embarking on an otherwise awesome journey.
