Go To The Theatre

Go to the Theatre
browse (1 / 1)

Why have people lost themselves completely to the commercial crap churned out and fitted snuggly into a movie theatre near you. No, no, no. Now I enjoy a good movie as much as the next person.

But what about the live element, the excitement of front row seats. The front row is great. you lose perspective, but you smell the sweat/cologne/perfume, see when they lose touch with the character, and see the distorted shape some mouths go into when they sing love songs. oh yeah and you see acne scarring, wholes in tights etc...

You not going to see that in a movie ,this is live ,live ,live entertainment....you might even view a mishap [heaven forbid] this is not going to come through in a movie-don’t fool yourselves. Become a part of something big. Go to a theatre and watch a live production. There are so many to choose from, educational performances, diner and show performances, just a show.

Take a picnic, sit outdoors or indoors and watch the actors and actresses in front of you take you back to the hay-day of old Shakespeare [he's never gone out, still being studied in a school near you] or go for a dinner and show, eat and enjoy a glass of wine with entertainment just 5 metres away. Discuss the performance afterwards with the actors involved, if you are confused about the symbolism of it all just ask, its a quaint atmosphere and is usually discussed after for a while, delving through the ins and outs of a performance.

Meet and make new friends, go watch a play together then have a drink and discussion after, become part of a cultured few....where your interpretation of a production will become so fine tuned it will literally seem like jargon to those who haven’t been, and have no clue about the fall of Desdemona or the remake of the classic Hair, or how the script has been changed as well as setting for a more industrial version of Jesus Christ Superstar.
