Fitzsimons Snake Park
Oh my lordy!!!!!How can anyone not be scared of snakes, they date back in history,well ...to the very beginning, Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden [thats if you believe everything the Bible has to say]and even in the beginning [well the beginning we often hear of] they have negative connotations.The slippery creatures, scared on my part would be a gross understatement, I am completely freaked by the creatures, but at the same time I'd be lying if I said they didnt facinate me, just to watch the way they move, the various colours,lengths,thicknesses and breads,as well as of course the quirks like the Rattlesnakes 'tail', or the Cobras 'hood', Once flared [as a warning of distaste] I'd be flying in the opposite direction [hopefully] , then there's the albino kind, the large and fat Boa Constrictors and Pythons that strangle their prey. There is a morbid fascination I have for these creatures and I'm sure I'm not the only one. From a scaredy cats point of view the most important thing about viewing a snake is the setting- note- the all important factor-safety.
The Fitzsimons snake park is home to hundreds of both indigenous and exotic snakes. For you snake-lovers out there they also give talks and demonstrations ,repeatedly on a daily basis. You will be happy to note that they will be secured in glass viewing enclosures [thermostatically controlled of course] to allow you to breath a little lighter.If arranged you can even view a feeding session. The Park focuses on South African snakes but never fear you'll see snakes from other parts of the world too, Like the Anaconda.
But at the same time I do feel like they have gotten a bad rep, so come on fella's , give them a chance.
