The Oribi Gorge Nature Reserve is ideally situated on the Kwa-Zulu Natal South Coast. It is approximately 210 km south of Durban, in the picturesque area of Port Shepstone. The Oribi Gorge is nestled away at the head of an exceptional river gorge lined with vast coastal shrub and forests.
Oribi Gorge offers the peace and tranquility of the forest, where trees and bird life abound completely undisturbed. Self-guided trails allow guests to indulge in remarkable views of the surrounding countryside. The Oribi Gorge is rich in smaller wildlife species and it has been noted that visitors have occasionally seen leopards. The Oribi Gorge is a spectacular birding destination in that more than 250-recorded species have been spotted in the vicinity of the Oribi Gorge Camp.
Fun filled activities that are available include a delightful trail along the Umzimkulwan River Gorge that provides the most miraculous scenic views to visitors and an array of picnic spots to choose from along the river. The Oribi Gorge is excellent for family getaways
6 x 2-bed en-suite chalets, each consisting of a refrigerator, kettle, toaster, bedding, cutlery and crockery. A 7-bed self-catering facility chalet is also available, each with 3 bedrooms, bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen, and lounge, dining area and barbecue facilities.
Other superb attractions to the camp are 5 spacious campsites. These campsites are equipped with electric power and barbecue facilities with firewood and charcoal on sale. Also available are four rustic campsites which feature central washing up facilities, flush toilets, shower, basins and baths. Oribi Gorge Camp provides a wide range of self-catering chalets as well as crystal clear swimming pools and a communal lounge with television for the expediency of guests.
