Revel in the amazing sights and sounds of the majestic Lotheni Mountains. The Lotheni Camp is a natural treasure, offering acres of vast lush Greenland and beautiful scenic mountain views, situated in a secluded section of the Ukhahlamba Drakensburg Park.
Emadundwini Trail is about 12 km away and is highly recommende, other hikes include the Eagle, Falls, Canyon and Jacobs Ladder Trails. Here at this exciting and tranquil riverside oasis visitors are truly in for a treat. Lotheni has much to offer in that there are many activities that provide immense enjoyment for the entire family.
Main activities at the camp include hiking, mountain biking, fly-fishing and many more adventurous sports. Guests will pass through magnificent, breathtaking views when participating in The Gelib Tree Mountain bike trail 8 km away via the historic Gelib Tree en-route.
Fishing is also extremely rewarding to fly-fisherman, as there is an abundance of brown trout in the Lotheni River. Swimming in the Lotheni river is indeed one of the most favorite activities that guests indulge in whilst leisurely investigating this stunning region. This exquisite river invites up to 172 recorded species of bird life. Lotheni offers comfortable self -catering facilities and features.
The accommodation at Lotheni Camp consists of:
Two spacious 6 bed chalets, 1 double bed chalet and 11 with 2 single beds.
The accommodation includes cutlery, crockery and bedding as well a deep-freeze unit and a gas stove in the camp kitchen.
Lotheni campsites are beautifully situated amongst fourteen caravan and/or tent sites. All campsites have their own barbecue facilities. Other attractions include a children's playground, picnicking with barbecue facilities which are available for day visitors.
The Simes Rustic Cottage is in close proximity to a small trout dam, which is ideally stocked for the exclusive use of Simes Cottage guests. It includes a bathroom, and a fully equipped kitchen. Guests should however supply bedding, gas lamps and torches.
Also available are mountain view huts that face the stunning mountain and rivers. It accommodates 3 people and has a kitchen, a small deep-freeze, shower and toilet and a decent supply of cutlery and crockery, however visitors supply their own linen and towels.
