Cathedral Peak - Didima Camp Reviews

Didima Camp
A very comfortable and reasonably priced option for visitors to the area with a helpful restaurant and shop.

A VERY GOOD CHOICE
Our reception was warm and welcoming, the chalets were correctly allocated and clean, the support was excellent in terms of providing tables, chairs, crockery, webbers, and even a gas heater, since the evening turned out to be very cold. Our sincere thanks to Nonhlanhla and Peter, who did the deliveries for the function. Judie, your help in getting things booked and organized was invaluable. Thank you VERY much.

Undiscovered beauty
This was one of the most stunning places in the world we have visited. Other places we have been to in the Drakensburg do not compare. Chalets were great value and had phenomenal views- You just can't stop staring! Service was consistently good and staff were lovely. To top it off we saw a herd of 13 eland on our walk up Tryme Hill. Will definitely be going back and taking our guests with us.

Exceeded Expectations
The rooms were fantastic. The kitchenette was fully stocked with all the utensils you need. Make sure that you request a Weber if you want to braai/BBQ.

The stars were brilliant and the landscape was breathtaking. Very little compares to this little paradise.

Stunning
Just want to say that Didima Lodge was great. The accomodation was superb, we got to see the lovely mountain views and stay in a cosy establishment. The reception we received on arrival was friendly and helpful, and I will definitely come back again.

shame about the internet
as per usual, we again come across 2 single beds.
seldom did we get a queen /double in sth africa. the made was a doll. after i removed the small cupboard and pushed them together... she went and found us queen sheets (her small token)
went to check my hotmail.. and the page was blocked, as were most common sites. go figure. at least they had it

Very enjoyable.
Some dirty marks on the wall next to the bed in our room that we had to remove ourselves

Great Setting
I thought it might be useful if I gave you feedback direct – we did love staying at Didima. Friendly staff, great setting and the cottages were well equipped and well presented made for a romantic and relaxing break in the most amazing location.

The feedback that you may wish to act on though is that the unit we were in, which I suspect applied to all of the others, was incredibly musty – I am asthmatic and it made me quite ill over the time we were staying there.

I realise this is a function of cleaning and not being able to leave windows open because of the baboons, however there are a number of quick and easy solutions to this problem and I am just not sure how aware the Camp managers are of the issue so that it can be dealt with.

We really enjoyed staying there and would definitely love to come back again but I am a little wary of having to experience the rooms again – which is a real shame.

Kind regards,

Shannon

Perfect holiday resort
Didima camp is a beautiful place in a most magnificent setting. We can recommend it without reservation. Camp is a misnomer - resort or hotel would be more appropriate. Self-catering facilities are good but most provisions are only available 40 km away. The restaurant is well staffed and food good. Wonderful walks and good guiding.

Stay jan 2010
Lovely chalets in a fantastic setting with good ameneties.Very peaceful, private and well kept, didn't expect to see so much wildlife.
Would have liked a bit more info on how to get the most out of a short stay, otherwise thoroughly enjoyable, good value for money.
