Our cycle holidays range from fully-supported & professionally guided tours (with all accommodation, meals, luggage transfers & vehicle support provided) to more 'self-guided' options whereby we'll provide you with detailed route information (maps & gps co-ordinates) and take care of trip logistics - such as accommodation bookings, airport and end-point vehicle transfers. Take a gentle ride through attractive farmlands and quiet country roads, stopping to visit local art studios, galleries and organic deli's along the way. End your morning's ride with lunch at a country restaurant or treat yourself to a massage at one of the renowned spas in the area. Active Escapes offers all-inclusive weekend-cycle packages (accommodation in luxury guest lodges) or day-trip tours - for those wishing to explore the countryside at a gentler pace......

MTB TRAINING WEEKENDS (Midlands):

Training for a multi-day stage race such as Sani2C or Sabi Experience? Come to the KZN Midlands & partake in a 2-3-day mountain bike training camp. Aimed at persons with previous MTB experience and reasonable fitness, tours start in Kamberg and finish in Howick - passing through a diverse range of terrain from bushveld to mistbelt forest, open grassland, commercial forestry plantations and private farmlands. Overnight in comfortable farm and/or guesthouse accommodation, whilst we take care of your luggage and meals.

Take A Ride on the wild side

3-6 Days ( Riding Distances: 25-63 km/ day)

Discover South Africa's most magnificent and pristine coastline with a guided cycle tour along the Transkei, Wild Coast. Ride from cliff-top to sandy beach, across grassy plateau and forest-tracks, passing through rural villages along the way. Overnight in comfortable family hotels, whilst your meals, luggage and end-point transfers are taken care of.

Maluti Drakensberg Cycle Adventure

2-5 Days (Daily Riding Distances: 13-60kms)

Explore the mountainous foothills of the Maluti drakensberg on a fully-supported, guided mountainbike trail. Delight in the downhill thrills of organic 'sleigh-trails', contoured cattle-paths and high-plateau riding. Overnight in comfortable mountain chalets-with hot showers, stunning views and friendly hosts to provide delicious home-cooked meals.
