Some other highlights underneath the sea include two shipwrecks the Nebo and the Produce, which lie submerged. Over the years, these shipwrecks have become home to many of the reefs multicolored inhabitants. You don’t need a diving certification to enjoy this awe-inspiring sight, snorkeling trips are offered as well as dolphin and whale watching by boat.
The annual sardine run is another world famous attraction that occurs here, as millions of sardines pass through the waters. The sardines attract a large variety of bird and sea life who prey upon this plentiful feast passing through here between June and July. Witnessing this impressive spectacle is a once in a lifetime opportunity.
If you prefer more land-based activities, Umkomaas does not disappoint. The Umkomaas golf course has a superb 18 hole course that is highly recommended. The Pavillion Shopping Center makes for a great afternoons entertainment. For the more adventurous traveler, shark cage diving is a great way to get the adrenaline flowing.
