The Shades

The Shades is based in Umhlanga Rocks, corner Weaver Crescent and Lagoon Drive, behind the Cabana Beach Hotel. This is a second floor, two bedroom (one double bed and two singles), two bathroom unit (en suite and shower).

This apartment has a patio area, open plan lounge and dining area and kitchen with fridge/freezer, microwave, oven,tumble drier, crockery and cutlery. The unit has, ceiling fans, DSTV facilities (bring your own decoder and card), linen is provided however beach and bath towels are not. The access to the unit is up two flights of stairs, there is one undercover parking, one open parking and parking for trailers. The beach access is next to the Cabana Beach Hotel.

The unit is serviced Monday to Fridays (excl public holidays). The complex offers 24 hour security, laundry facilities and swimming pool.

"Our stay at The Shades was disappointing. The apartment is very basic and yes I know you get what you pay for but I still don't think that the rate we paid was so little that the accommodation should be of that standard. The double bed in the main room is definitely in need of being replaced, you cant turn from one direction to the other and the whole apartment can hear the squeaks of the springs! The shower head in the main bathroom is so low that the you cant stand directly under it. Although it is conveniently situated I would definitely not make use of it in the future."
