Seaside Cottage

Perfectly situated along the lower La Lucia Beaches, in Umhlanga Rocks, just north of Durban. We offer self-catering accommodation for the Holidaymaker, Businessperson or just a weekend getaway.

Just walk across the road and savour an uncrowded Beach, were you can have a leisurely stroll, a romantic picnic, sunbathe, or a refreshing sundowner. Seaside Cottage is close to the main access roads, 20 minutes from Durban International Airport, 5 minutes from Point Waterfront, Ushaka Marine World, Suncoast Casino Durban City Centre, The International Convention Centre (ICC) Umhlanga Village, Umhlanga Ridge Office Park, Gateway Theatre of Shopping, the 2nd largest in the world and the biggest in the Southern Hemisphere, Sibiya Casino and Entertainment Kingdom and 15km from the A1 Grand Prix racetrack.

We are in close proximity to a variety of tourist attractions great restaurants and pubs. We close to coffee shops, supermarkets, restaurants and other shops and well as Virgin Active Gym. Umhlanga Rocks is known internationally as the holiday meca of KwaZulu-Natal, with it's magnificent beaches and friendly locals.

KZN has some fantastic Game parks offering safari tours in which you have a chance of seeing Africa's Big Five. The beautiful Drakensberg Mountains offer Skiing; quad tours up and down Sani Pass (passports are necessary) KZN also boasts the Valley of 1000 Hills, Zulu Dancing and Township Tours for that cultural experience. There are four world class Golf courses, Dolphin viewing, Whale watching, Deep sea diving and Game fishing nearby, just to name a few. All units have been tastefully decorated and be have been awarded 4 star status by the Tourism Grading Council of Southern Africa. We can accommodate a total of fourteen guests.

Seaside Cabin, is a basic rustic wooden structure with its own private

sundeck and sleeps a maximum of 2 people. This unit is our "backpackers"

(budget) unit and is suitable for younger or more adventurous guests. The

beds are a set of bunk beds, with extra thick mattress for comfort. It has

tea/coffee facilities, but NO cooking facilities. It has a fan, a microwave

and a family size fridge. There is a colored TV with selected DSTV channels.

The "bathroom" is a shower, toilet and hand basin. (NOT en-suite) We provide

linen and bath towels, but please bring your own beach towels. *This unit

does NOT carry our 4 star self catering rating*

Seaside Cottage 1 is a family unit which can accommodate up to six people. The unit has an air-conditioner in the lounge area, as well as in the main bedroom. There is a king size bed in the main bedroom, with a colour TV and two sets of bunk beds, with extra thick mattress for comfort, in the open plan lounge area. The "bathroom" is a shower, toilet and hand basin. The unit has been fitted with a family fridge, stove, oven, microwave, toaster, kettle, crockery and cutlery. There is also safe, a colour TV, full DSTV Channels, a DVD player, and a mini hi-fi/radio/CD player. We provide linen and bath towels, but please bring your own beach towels. Seaside Cottage 1 has a garden with a covered patio area and Webber braai.

Seaside Cottage 2 can accommodate up to six people. This unit has two bedrooms upstairs, with 2 single beds pushed together to make a king size bed in the main bedroom and 2 single beds in the second bedroom. There is a double sleeper couch downstairs. The "bathroom" is a shower, toilet and hand basin. The unit has been fitted with a family fridge, stove, oven, microwave, toaster, kettle, crockery and cutlery. There is a safe, a colour TV, and full DSTV Channels. We provide linen and bath towels, but please bring your own beach towels. Seaside Cottage 2 has a covered patio area and Webber braai.

Seaside Cottage 3 can accommodate up to two people. This newly refurbished, quaint unit has aircon, a microwave, bar fridge, tea/coffee facilities, an electric frying pan (by request only), but NO cooking facilities. There is a colored TV with full DSTV. There is a king size bed, and the "bathroom" is a shower, toilet and hand basin. We provide linen and bath towels, but please bring your own beach towels

Seaside Cottage - Cabin, can accommodate up to two people. This unit is a rustic wooden structure with its own private sundeck. It has tea/coffee facilities, an electric frying pan, but NO cooking facilities. It has a fan, a microwave and a family size fridge. There is a colored TV with selected DSTV channels. The beds are a set of bunk beds, with extra thick mattress for comfort. The "bathroom" is a shower, toilet and hand basin, NOT en-suite. We provide linen and bath towels, but please bring your own beach towels.

We offer safe secure parking for one car per unit and all the Cottages/Units are serviced three times a week, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Except public holidays.

We have been graded by RCI as "Imperial" (4 star), and have been awarded 4 star status by the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa. We are a member of the National Accommodation Association of Southern Africa (NAASA), FEDHASA, Umhlanga Bed and Breakfast Association, Umhlanga Tourism and Tourism KZN.
