Flamingo Lodge

Geoff and Di welcome you to Flamingo Lodge B&B which is situated in the heart of Umhlanga Rocks and is closest of all the B&B's (200 meters) to the main bathing beach, and the Beach front Promenade. The beach front promenade is ideal for those people who like to walk or jog and is about 4 kilometers long, with spectacular scenery, open air restaurants and the occasional sighting of dolphins and whales. Umhlanga Rocks is situated some 25 minutes from the main Durban International airport. just 12 kilometers north of downtown Durban. Very close to the famous Gateway Shopping Centre, and surrounded by world class Golf Clubs.

Park your vehicle in our safe car park and you are within a 2 minute walk to the beaches and the various excellent restaurants and shopping facilities that the Village has to offer. Each of the tastefully decorated B&B bedrooms all have their own en suite bathrooms/showers, as well as their own private patios. All rooms are equipped with 32" HD LCD Flat screen Televisions, Satellite Television, Safes, Tea/Coffee making facilities and individually controlled Air-cons and fans.

The whole B&B is "An Internet Hotspot" so people with their own wireless computers enjoy free internet facilities. The lodge provides for its guests with an Honesty bar and an Internet Cafe, where guests can download their digital pictures onto disks. Take time to relax after a busy day at our honesty bar located in the guest lounge verandah. A full English Breakfast is served outside on our balcony with great views of the sea.

We have several first class golf resorts within a 10 kilometer drive. Dolphin viewing, deep sea diving and fishing all start from "Granny's Pool" which is just in front of us on the beach. The lodge has special arrangements with several excellent first class restaurants and leisure resorts where Flamingo residents enjoy special discounts. We can arrange all your tourist requirements or business needs through our reception where the friendly staff will do what they can to make your stay a memorable one.

Each of the tastefully decorated bedrooms all has their own en suite bathrooms/showers, as well as their own private patios. All rooms are equipped with 32" HD LCD Flat screen Televisions with satellite Television, Safes, Tea/Coffee making facilities and individually controlled Air-cons and fans.

The bathrooms have all been fully renovated and modernized by installing brand new shower doors. All the beds have been replaced with modern beds that can be easily converted from 2 single beds to a King size double bed. 3 of the Rooms have bathrooms with a bath and separate shower 3 have baths with a shower facility in the bath and 2 have showers only. Complimentary items include individually wrapped soap, shampoo, conditioner, shower cap and sewing kit. DSTV (Satellite Television) with individual controls have been installed in each room. Wireless Internet facilities are now available at no extra charge to all guests (providing they have their own wireless internet capable computer) in each room. A full English Breakfast is served outside on our balcony with great views of the sea.
