The uMuzi Bushcamp is in Ulundi, near Ondini, the site where the Zulu monarch, King Cetshwayo, built his royal residence which was destroyed by the British forces under Lord Chelmsford in 1879 during the Anglo-Zulu war.
In the shade of huge Amarula trees the uMuzi is laid out in true traditional Zulu fashion surrounding the " isibayo " (cattle enclosure) where our fully licenced and well stocked bar forms the centrepiece of our accommodation entertainment area.
Offering comfortable accommodation, eight of the huts have en suite shower and toilets while one shares the modern ablution facilities.
The Magogo is a four bed family room with ensuite shower and toilet facilities.
The uMuzi caters for single visitors up to tour groups offering meals cooked in a modern kitchen or over an open braai fire.
Each hut is unique in its exterior fa?e, but within, modern accommodation conveniences make your stay a comfortable and memorable one.
Every hut is ensuite, has twin single beds, fan, TV (local channels and shared satellite dish).
A writing desk is available in each hut should you wish to work on in the evening with a complimentary tea/coffee tray on hand.
Each hut has also been named after rivers in Zululand where the different building styles occur.
Although in a malaria free area mosquito's and other insects form part of our lives and each room is equipped with the necessary arsenal of repellents.
Given that the huts are adequately defended against the invasion of insects we respectfully request that you smoke outside.
Huts are serviced daily and laundry serviced on request.
