Spend three days exploring the Hluhluwe-Umfolozi Game Reserve, world renown Rhino Conservancy and home to the "big 5". This tour starts and ends in Durban. Classic tours are operated in smaller luxury vehicles and smaller groups.
DAY 1 - DURBAN - ST LUCIA - HLUHLUWE
Road transfer to Mtubatuba, meet your guide and transfer to the Veyane Zulu Cultural Village and learn more about this culture including bead making, weaving, Sangoma (witchdoctor) and traditional dancing performance. Continue to St Lucia for a boat cruise on the Estuary with opportunity to view hippo and crocodiles. Then transfer to a lodge near Hluhluwe for dinner and overnight.
DAY 2 - HLUHLUWE GAME RESERVE
Depart early morning for full day of game viewing. Packed breakfast en route. Visit Centenary Centre, renown for capture and translocation of game, especially White Rhino. Possible opportunity for close encounter with rhino in capture 'bomas' (enclosures). Return in the late afternoon; this evening enjoy a 'Boma' dinner (weather permitting). Overnight at a lodge.
DAY 3 - HLUHLUWE GAME RESERVE - DURBAN
Depart early morning for final game drive. Return to lodge for breakfast. Return transfer to Durban, arriving in the late afternoon, where tour ends.
