Our lodge is a 24-bed, self-catering bush camp located 10 minutes from central Pietermaritzburg, 45 minutes north of Durban, 5-hours south of Johannesburg. Acacia means real peace and quiet - close to town. Many of our guests were once patrons of PMB's hotels and guesthouses, but all were driven out by the incessant noise of the town.
At Acacia we offer everything you need to accommodate self-catering, but an optional continental breakfast can be ordered and meals can be ordered in via Mr. Delivery.
Accommodation is in eight, very comfortable three-bedded wooden cottages each with its own private veranda. In addition every cottage is equipped with Mnet TV, air-con, blankets, bedding, pillows, cutlery and crockery for four, a two-plate stove, microwave, pots and pans and a dining table with four chairs. Heaters and extra blankets are supplied in winter.
The atmosphere is true Natal bushveld with parkland lawns interweaving through indigenous veldgrass leading to a unique rock swimming pool. All around the lodge flat-topped acacias spread shade and there is plenty of shady parking. Birding paths criss-cross the 9ha farm and antelope roam the veld and the bird life is prolific.
