Hluhluwe Imfolozi Park is rated one of South Africa's most sought after game parks offering visitors priceless wildlife encounters. The broad collection of plant existence in the park gives rise to an assortment of mammals, bird life, amphibians and reptiles. The BIG FIVE - lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino (both black & white) are all observable in the park, as well as a diversity of other species, such as cheetah, giraffe and wild dog.

Nyala sighting are also a regular occurrence at Hluhluwe Imfolozi park. Hluhluwe’s diverse wildlife and panoramic terrain, provides a wonderful game and bird viewing experience with spiritually uplifting hiking trails.

Accommodation at Hluhluwe Imfolozi Park consists of:

A lavish Hilltop Camp and bush lodges to rustic bush camps as well as the authentic African experience of sleeping in a safari-tented camp.

Hilltop Camp, the oldest in KwaZulu-Natal, was comprehensively rebuilt and enlarged in the early nineties. Today Hilltop’s accommodation ranges from a luxury lodge to a selection of beautifully selected self-catering accommodation units.

The respected Hilltop Camp on the pinnacle of a forested hill offers an array of fine views of the neighboring countryside and forest trail. Each unit is serviced on a daily basis. Facilities include: twenty 2-bedded rondavels with shared kitchens and ablutions; seven 2-bedded self-catering chalets and twenty-two 4-bedded self-catering chalets. There are also twenty 2-bedded chalets available, which do not have self-catering facilities; these are located close to the main reception area that includes an a la carte restaurant. An eye-catching pub as well as lounge uniquely decorated with memorabilia such as photographs of Hluhluwe’s interesting history. The premises also host a gift shop and convenience store.

Hlaza Hide was developed at the location of the old summerhouse in Hilltop Camp. Viewing of the huge diversity of wildlife will shortly be increased by an attractive new watering hole bordered by soft lighting.

A full English buffet breakfast is offered everyday at the Mpunyane Restaurant. A la Carte lunches are available from Monday to Saturday the restaurant hosts a hot and cold buffet on Sundays. Dinners are generally a hot and cold buffet or alternately a traditional braai (barbeque) weather permitting.

Dinner schedules are flexible depending on guest profiles and holidays.

A stunning thatched house set in a superb garden is referred to as Mtwazi Lodge. This was once the dwelling of the original reserve warden. Mtwazi lodge is a comfy eight-bedded lodge made up of three bedrooms each with its own concealed bathroom and an annex bedroom with a private shower and toilet. Mtwazi is a self-catering unit.

For a more up-market stay, Muntulu and Munywaneni are bush lodges made up of four individual en suite bedrooms hosting private veranda’s overlooking the majestic Hluhluwe River. A communal viewing lounge and kitchen area is also available. Up to eight people can be housed in complete privacy at the bush lodge.

GENERAL INFO : A daily conservation levy of R80.00 per adult per day and R40.00 per Juvenile (3 to 12 years) per day is payable. Children under 3 years no charge. No gate entry fee will apply at this Park. South African and SADC residents who provide proof of identity may apply for discounts on this fee and will be charged R40.00 per person per day.
