Emdoneni Lodge is located on a small game farm, with sand forest vegetation. Walk with the wildlife including Impala, Nyala, Grey Duiker and other antelope. Bird life is abundant. Africa has few places left where it is still possible to try and achieve the elusive and highly desirable goal of symbiosis between man and his environment. This is still possible In Zululand in the kwa Zula Natal Province.
Along the coral reefs which flank the Maputoland coastline, inland lakes and estuaries hosting vast numbers of hippopotamus, crocodile and fish; our wildlife heritage is ever increasing due to tourism and the protection of the endangered Rhinoceros.
Emdoneni Lodge and Game Farm in located in Hluhluwe offers guests intimate and comfortable accommodation in the form of chalets and rondavels, on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis, allowing guests to sample the delights of true South African hospitality and cuisine.
The accommodation at Emdoneni Lodge consists of 26 chalets and 3 rondavels.
Chalets: Eight Spacious, elegant chalets with an authentic atmosphere. Twin beds with an en-suite bathroom. Coffee/tea making facilities. These chalets have a view of the cheetah camp. Dinner, bed & breakfast. Eighteen chalets in a secluded sand forest area. This bush camp has its own boma. Rondavels: African-style, round, thatched roof rondavels. Open-plan kitchen with lounge. Separate bedroom with en-suite bathroom. Dinner, bed and breakfast.All the units are serviced twice daily. Before and after dinner, join us for evening drinks around the fire, at the Boma.

Spend a day or two on the premises, enjoy the swimming pool and lapa and have drinks at the Boma around an open fire. Our restaurant provides excellent traditional South African cuisine - join us for a 3-course dinner (lunch on request). Emdoneni has its very own Cheetah and Serval Project with guided tours.
Then enjoy the attractions of the area... with an open vehicle game drive to the Hluhluwe/Umfolozi Game Reserves in search of the Big 5; or go deep sea fishing, take a boat trip on Lake St Lucia, take in some indigenous culture at the Dumazulu Cultural Village, the options are endless.
The aim of the project is to care for wild Cheetahs and Serval Cats, which have been orphaned or injured in the wild and are in need of care and rehabilitation. We also intend to breed where possible and release the offspring back into their natural habitat.
Animals are fed at 4:30pm daily and visitors to the project can experience the feeding and also enjoy an informative talk regarding the animals and the project by a guide.
The project has grown well in the last year, with two young Cheetah, six Caracal / Lynx and five African Wildcat joining the project. We are now able to offer guests the opportunity to view four of the seven cat species found in Africa.
Cheetah viewing: 10:30am & 4:30pm Monday - Saturday please inquire and not on Sundays.
We have Impala / Nyala / Reedbuck & Grey Duiker. A small paradise for keen "Birders". Specialised Game Drives: This is done in an open game drive vehicle. We do specialized walking trails / beach excursions; Snorkeling etc / boat trips to St Lucia.
