Chelmsford House is conveniently situated in the leafy suburb of Glenwood, close to the University of Natal,Howard College campus, the Entabeni and St. Augustine hospitals, the International Convention Centre, and 8kms to Durban's famed "Golden Mile" of beaches and Ushaka Marine world. Walking distance to upmarket and family resturants, shops, supermarkets etc.

This art deco styled house offers a range of accommodation to suit any traveler:

A large pool, braai facilities, and bar/entertainment area make for comfortable living, be it in one of the 7 en-suite bedrooms, or in the backpackers-styled dorm for up to ten guests. Self-catering option availble with access to the fully stocked guest kitchen, where meals may be stored and prepared. All the rooms at Chelmsford House have televisions with M-Net, air conditioners / fans and views of the Durban harbour and large pool. Secure parking is provided.

A full English/Continental breakfast is served every morning, and the Chelmsford House hosts whose creed is "we aim to please" welcome children, and cater for all you traveling needs on request, from airport transfers and laundry to evening meals.

"A very happy friendly place to stay. The owners could not do enough for you. The breakfast was bountiful and set you up for the day and the help offered and flexibility were excellent. The room was fine and the location secure in a good area. I only booked for 5 days but stayed for 9. Only downside was the lack of WiFI and SABC which is poor."

We are on the corner of Alan Paton and Princess Alice Ave. Big steel driveway gate, ring ships bell for attention.
From the Airport, take the M4 highway, take the Berea off ramp on the left and come up Moore Rd, now Che' Guevarra Rd, turn left into Manning Rd, now Lena Arense and 3rd lights right into MacDonald, now Alan Paton Road. We are on the left corner of Princess Alice Ave and Alan Paton Roads.
