Ithala's main camp is referred to as Ntshondwe. It is enormously disguised, against the flat landscape at the foot of the cliffs of the Ngotshe Mountain. Gigantic horizontal contours of pink and auburn sandstone counteract vertically serrated spires of dolerite rock, providing the ideal sanctuary for raptors. Raptor calls echo between rock face and cranny as they soar into the sky in territorial flaunt.

Accommodation at Ithala’s main camp Ntshondwe consists of:

39 thatched, self-catering chalets that merge into a thriving setting of indigenous flora such as acacias, cabbage trees, wild figs and other. Each chalet has two to six beds, some of which were designed specifically for the handicapped, while another 28 chalets do not have catering amenities and are perfect for tour groups as well as conference delegates.

These chalets are situated in close proximity to the visitors' centre that boasts a fully licensed restaurant and bar. An open game viewing deck overlooking a small pan is free for use. Other facilities include a uniquely designed swimming pool built around a giant rock, a fully- operational conference centre, and a curio shop that also carries a collection of fundamental necessities.

Ntshondwe is an exclusive luxury lodge offering complete seclusion in a magnificent environment. It is able to sleep six guests in three bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. There is a small swimming pool, a sun deck and barbecue facilities overlooking the valley beneath.

Mhlangeni Bush camp is positioned on a rocky outcrop overlooking a stream. Mhlangeni bush camp is able to sleep approximately ten guests in five two-bed units. A communal open-plan lounge and sun deck boasts amazing views. Even the showers have stunning views. A tour guide is available to take guests on game walks.

Mbizo Bush camp is supremely placed beside a string of rapids and pools. The Ngubhu and Mbizo rivers meet in the vicinity. A maximum of eight guests can be accommodated in the two detached bush chalets constructed of wood, thatch and reed. Each features two bedrooms, a kitchen, a private lounge and viewing deck. The camp has two separate ablution blocks for your convenience. The services of an attendant and tour guide are included within the tariff.

Hidden away at the base of a steep slope on the banks of the Thalu River you’ll find Thalu Bush Camp that overlooks a large pool in the river where swimming is permitted with a scenic barbecue area. Thalu can accommodate four people in two bedrooms joined by a kitchen, lounge and viewing deck. Thalu bush camps tariff includes the services of an attendant and tour guide.
