The Protea Hotel Empangeni offers 55 lovely decorated rooms each with an en-suite bathroom as well as a shower. The rooms all have air-conditioning, Satellite TV, DSTV and Mnet, a writing desk, and coffee/tea facilities. The rooms are all rather large and you have comfortable beds. A breakfast feast is served in the dining area for you every morning. For dining the restaurant offers an a la carte menu as well as a carvery with a delicious spread to help you fill up that empty spot in your stomach.

The hotel also offers a magnificent romantic setting for a garden wedding with a reception area which can accommodate 350 guests. The hotel staff will be all the happy to professionally assist you with your plans. Also on offer are conference facilities where the business men and woman can comfortably work. There are 3 individual rooms which can be combined to seat more people. Divided room can seat from 20-150 people and once rooms are linked you can seat 350 people.

If you feel like venturing the ocean then just 18 kms away you can go on a charter or cruise with one of the locals. For nature lovers there is plenty to do such as night drives and fantastic game viewing (a choice of 4 different places), Turtle viewing is 60km further up the road and there are great hikes and amazing bird watching. Day trips can also be arranged to visit historical sites of the battlefields.
