Abahambi Palm Lodge

Abahambi Palm Lodge is a lovely , comfortable and discreet Durban North style home and offers bed and breakfast and self catering accommodation.

Abahambi is the Zulu word for Travellers, which refers to the beautiful trio of Travellers Palms in the grounds, and depicted in our logo. The Travellers Palm is named because the stems hold rainwater and was used to drink in an emergency.

Conveniently positioned in the exclusive Central Durban North area, and is equidistant between Durbans Golden Mile and Umhlanga Rocks holiday resort . There is a short walk to the restaurants and night life of the area . A few minutes drive will take you to the city centre, beaches, Ushaka Marine World, Sun Coast Casino, International Convention Centre, Sharks rugby and Kingsmead cricket stadiums , the Gateway and La Lucia malls. And... not forgetting the new World Cup Moses Mahbida football stadium, with its arch, which is a landmark from all around the city.

The Lodge has recently been renovated in keeping with the style of the area, but has very up to date finishes, for example the bathrooms and shower rooms.

There are five double bedrooms in the main house, all with either a shower or bathroom en suite, and a 2 bedroom self catering cottage in the grounds , overlooking the beautiful pool. Both bedrooms also have a modern shower en suite. All rooms in the main house have Satelite TV , tea making facilities and have either ceiling fans or air conditioning.

Overlooking the garden is a large sun deck, with views of the Indian Ocean and the ships sailing past. Additionally there is also a Taverna styled patio, under a thick grape vine, for either some shade or a romantic late night drink.

Abahambi Palm Lodge is also a perfect base for the superb beaches of the Durban coast, or exploring the magnificent sights of Kwa Zulu Natal, from Game parks to battlefields , not to mention the superb golfcourses, water sports, and other magnificent sporting facilities.
