Chaka's Rock
Launch your holiday and your ski-boat from the beach at Chaka’s Rock. If you do not have a boat, place your towel on the beach and watch the launching of boats on their way to a deep sea fishing trip, skiing activity or sunset cruise. Buy fresh fish, stay in a cosy chalet or walk on the sandy beach with a fine tidal pool bordered by picturesque, rocky cliffs. Situated five kilometres to the North of Ballito, Chaka’s Rock is a small residential area with a beautiful beach that is not as crowded as the other holiday towns that have the major facilities. Scour the beach for shells, swim in the sea or safe tidal pools or fish from the famous Rock that is named after the Zulu warrior. Umhlali Country Club is a newly renovated golf course with bar and conference facilities, Big Screen TV, bowls, squash courts and tennis courts. After a 40 minute drive from Durban International Airport, the only stressful choice will be whether to stay in a B&B about 500 meters from the beach or in a self catering apartment or cottage and from there the relaxation can begin in a Zulu coastal paradise.
