Our room and bathroom was spacious and very well appointed, the bed extremely comfortable with lovely linen and pillows.

My only recommendation would be that the lodge provides face cloths and larger soaps - the soaps we were given were much too small to even wash our hands with.

Our companions had a smaller room, also comfortable but they found that the room was not cleaned properly after the lasts guests had checked out and they checked in.

They found cut toe nails on the floor beside the bed! There were some areas with cobwebs,

We all enjoyed our breakfasts - they were freshly prepared and delicious.

As we all love dogs, we enjoyed the company of Max and his two companions. They even accompanied us on our walks around the beautiful property.

Hazel, our hostess was very helpful and even ensured that there was a light breakfast prepared for our husbands who left at 04:30 to run the Comrades Marathon..

Briar Ghyll Lodge is a lovely, tranquil haven which we would like to visit again.
